African Necklace, Moroccan Amber, Blue Hebron, Vintage Trade Beads, African Jewelry

Item Description

Rare old blue Hebron beads accented by Moroccan amber and African brass for a simple but bold necklace design. Hebron beads were handmade in Palestine primarily in the 19th century by glass artists. Some colors are more rare than others of the surviving beads from this era, blue being one of the most uncommon. African brass beads are between each of the blue Hebrons in the front portion of the necklace. Dark burgundy/brown Prosser disc beads form the back portion of the necklace; all of the beads are strung on strong leather cord. An artisan brass toggle clasp picks up the brass accents in the design and really makes them pop!!! The length of the necklace is slightly over 18 inches.
